Using PEREPEX students read, present and discuss primary research literature many times during the semester, regardless of the class size. PEREPEX gives every student an opportunity to speak and to ask questions in a low-stress creative environment. It stimulates student involvement and improves attitude towards primary research literature, in a discipline-independent manner.
PEREPEX is an excellent tool for formative assessment and intervention into the education process. It is a low-stakes assessment tool that is customizable to individual student needs (see the Data page). It gives students and instructors an opportunity to revisit previous presentations and review and study progress or review presentations from new points of view afforded by new knowledge.
